Enablement Staff

Huib Cornielje... the director. Huib is originally trained as a physiotherapist and gained his first international experience in South Africa. This is where he learned about the importance of a Community Based Rehabilitation approach. Many years later, Huib is now an experienced trainer, researcher, evaluator and consultant in the CBR and DID field. Huib leads Enablement and works parttime as the senior technical advisor on CBR and research at Liliane Foundation.

Angelique Kester... senior advisor childhood disability. Angelique is an experienced occupational therapist with 20 years of experience of working in a pediatric rehabilitation centre, home-based learning programmes and daycare centres. She works 2 days a week for Enablement in the field of community-based rehabilitation in low- and below middle-income countries: capacity building and research. Besides her job at Enablement, she works 3 days a week for the Liliane Foundation as advisor rehabilitation. Angelique plays an essential part in the STEP project of the Liliane Foundation, which focuses on better care and rehabilitation for children with neurological disorders. She also founded the Butterfly Basket Foundation in Vietnam and has been providing capacity building projects there for 13 years.

 

Léa Guignard... programme development officer. Léa began working with people with disabilities as a summer camp coordinator for adults with (mostly intellectual) disabilities and has spent the past five years doing so. She has a background in family studies and pedagogical sciences and obtained her advanced masters in international development. During this time, she has been working as the junior project manager for the STEP project of the Liliane Foundation. Léa has recently started working part-time at Enablement as the project coordinator for the RehApp and is also responsible for contributing to other work within Enablement, including capacity development and research.
